One gutsy rider, that doesn't let a little problem like missing limbs interfere with his passion for biking.

Front page article in the local paper today; and I think deservedly so.

I've read about Alan before - there was a short special on him on ABC a year or so back.

One gutsy guy who has my admiration.

That's a great story. especially the team name.

Reminds me of an octet of a team of precision skydivers made up of amputees.

They called themselves "Pieces of Eight"

 

Great story, he leaves his artificial leg off when racing for safety reasons, I bet a lot of other racers would like to be able to loose that much weight for a race too.
For once we may get a kiwi barracking for an Aussie on the track!

 

A step too far I think Jarvid, but I will encourage kiwiJK to doff his cap when he's in Invercargill next weekend for the racing.

 

Quite a Guy with an amazing spirit. Great story.
