Welcome to the asylum !
Plenty of advice here all of it cheerfully given.
Broken oil chain means a complete stripdown. Do the camchain and oil chain tensioners too.
See our Henry M for the mod to the camchain tensioner thingy.
Our Enry knows a thing or two, e does !

Default Newbie to the CBR Forum

Greetings all - this is my 1990 CBR1000F-L. Currently showing 95,000 miles and sadly is a little rattly as a result. But she was cheap at £450 with a full set of Krauser luggage.
One of those bikes I always wanted when I was younger but could never afford so tick the bucket list LOL
Over winter I plan to drop the engine and give it a good going over. Then hopefully see if a new cam chain & tensioner will reduce the rattle. Also plan to check the tolerances on the cam shaft bearings (hope its not that !!)

No it was a clock - but was all rusty and wasn't even connected up. I didn't like the hole it would leave if I removed it and there were also three small switched which did nothing ....- so I got a second hand panel off ebay - its not quite the right shade of red but ....

Welcome to the forum Edward, there are a few mods that can breath a bit of new life into your classic, upgrade to stick coils for one.

All the help you could ever need, just ask.

Yep! Stick coils, K&N air filter and bigger jets will make it run better on todays fuel.
