Default new chain...

just replaced my chain with a new RK x-ring...sooo much better than the worn out one that was on there. I think it was original...no more power lag under hard throttle, no more clicking, no more worries. before you ask...no I havent changed the sprockets yet...couldnt do it at the same time, but will be doing that next week...always as a set...I figure a week wont kill it....but a bad chain might kill me. damn it feels good.

Well done mate , it's great when you get something new on the bike

Stupid question but I suppose the sprockets can be changed without splitting the chain?

The reason I ask is I'm a bit suspicious of the front sprocket on my bike the chain and rear sprocket are both good , but with one thing and another , I don't trust the previous owner to have done the job properly! He's botched everything else so I wouldn't put it past him to have done only the bits you can see

Yeah , that's what I figured Shadow , when I had the rear wheel off but didn't have time to go messing with the front sprocket , removing plastic ect . Wanted to get her back on the road

The question I ask you is why is it jumpy in the first place ? ...did you just replace the chain at some stage ? or has the chain got a few miles on it ?
