Just about any Coen brother's movie. Specifically

Raising Arizona
Fargo
The Big Lebowski
O' Brother where 'Art Thou

Another fantastic movie Woof.

That movie put me onto Union Station and Alison Krauss - still love the feel of the Bluegrass music

Alison Krauss & Union Station - Man of Constant Sorrow - YouTube

(I'm having trouble getting YouTube vids embedded - what am I doing wrong?)

"my hair, my hair"

Indeed it was, but it's whole lot more fun and easier to follow than the original.

As for the helmet logo? just stumbled across an old MX helmet earlier in the week, probably dating from the mid 70's. Given the Suzuki S, I couldn't think of anyone more deserving, let's just call it a 1 000 post/Xmas pressie

Hiya Bordo

War movies as a genre? That's a completely different list

Private Ryan, for sure

Breaker Morant is one of my favorites. Great film in the military inquest theme

Tora,Tora,Tora

Lawrence of Arabia. Big-*** Cimena-Scope David Lean movie. Epic!

Bridge Over the River Kwai. Another Lean epic and a tour de force by Alec Guinness, though historically inaccurate as many of you Down Under know the horror of the survivors

Awww Nuts!

I've never been one to restrict myself in life, so why start now..........

My Desert Island 500 would also include at least two, no three Kevin Kline movies............

Life as a House, In and Out and A Fish Called Wanda

Life as a House would actually make it to the severely restricted Desert Island Five

Cheers, SB

Awww Gawd.

A Fish Called Wanda

Mum, god bless her, was a diehard John Cleese fan, Fawlty Towers and all that.

Well, anyway. she'd had Gall Bladder surgery and it wasn't the non-invasive kind. It was the big zipper of ten or twelve staples down her belly type.

My sister had flown out from D.C. to look after her with me. Mum decided she wanted to watch a video, specifically a comedy. So my sister and I go to the video rental place and we see this movie with Kline, Curtis, Marty Palin and of course John Cleese

A Fish Called Wanda

When it got to the scene where Cleese is seducing Jamie Leigh Curtis while speaking Russian and kicking off his clothes, My mum started laughing so hard that my sister and I thought she might pop her staples

What a great memory

Two days from now will be the seventh year of her passing

Aw bless you, Dorothy
