Good evening ![Smile](https://cbrforum.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
So I changed oil today and oil filter and placed a bran new battery on my baby.
Now Laugh part is that 2 months ago when I was standing in rep. buying and making a test ride I clearly remember guy telling me that oil is recently changed. And bike is in good riding condition. My guy who came with me to Tell me if I could cope fixing it or not asked him also the second time after he took a test ride.
After that the guy checked the oil again and said yes theres new oil in it.
I know I have sinned cause I should of changed oil few hundred km back.
Strange was that after 600 km in my hand the oil was preTTy blacky.
So I have gathered strenght and time to get my change kit.
Now the Sad part was that the oil filter was attached so tight that by accidently managed to brake it but again laugh point came when I cleaned it and saw that it is actual Honda original. Witch Probably means that the rep. guy had eighter wrong info or he lied cause they have absolutley no warrancy policy.
Heres a pic from the oil filter.
Check the attached Thumbnail under the text.
Also one smirking point is when I looked it more closely it ACTUALLY has some Rust on it.
So now I cant wait till I see if the new oil is better for my hungry motor or worst.
A small question... How often do you change your oil?
Someone told me that I need to do that after every 2000 Km with This bike...

the oil color isnt that big of deal. it will get black fairly quickly. the more you change it, the better it will look each time. like estate says, the frequency of changing it depends on how much you ride, but know that oil that sits is not great either.
i ride a lot, 2500 miles or more a month, when the weather is nice. i change it every 2 months/5,000 miles during those times. the months over the winter, i may only put a few thousand miles over those 4-5 months. i'll still change it after then, about the 6 month mark, before i start riding it a lot again. i use synthetic rotella t6.
oil is cheap, motors are expensive and a lot of work....

Yup...bike will love it at 2500/oil change...2500/mo is super commuter, that's alot of mileage. Vs. Some rider only put 1000/year....doesn't mean they should change oil every 2.5 year...LOL...
How hard you ride also factor.
But don't over kill and change every 1000 miles...new oils must be broken down and their property get thicker.

I change mine about every 2000 miles (maybe 3000klm) or every 6 months.
This is probably far more frequently than needed, but I ride quite hard and as the other guys have said, it's the best preventative maintenance you can do.
My motor has 50,000 miles on it and when I took the head off recently, the engineer that looked at it was amazed at how good it looked.
It only takes 10 minutes and costs very little, though I think every 2000 klms would be a bit too frequent. There's keen and then there's obsessive
