Unhappy MotoGP fatallity

Did anyone see the moto GP at Sepang? One heck of a mess with a nasty accident on lap two. Marco Simoncelli lost control of his bike and was hit from behind by Edwards & Rossi. Nothing they could have done to avoid him. The huge impact lifted the helmet right off Simoncelli leaving him motionless on the track. Watched it in stunned silence, Pretty sickening sight to see. Condolences to his family, team & friends.

They have since pronounced Marco dead (RIP) what a big loss, Crikey, looking at his stats, he was only twenty four. Two major motorsport fatalities in a week.

Couple of links.

It's a crying shame, he sure brought some excitement to the GP. Makes you wonder about how well his helmet fitted with all that hair, I wonder if the chin strap failed or it just came off...either way it sucks, he sure was entertaining.

RIP MARCO
YOU WILL BE MISSED......

I feel so sorry for Colin Edwards - there was NO WAY he could have done anything to avoid the accident.

And Valentino who is/was Marco's good friend.

A sad day for the sport.

Condolences to the family.

Have now watched the footage, what a freak accident!

Poor Marco appeared to have his leg caught under the bike, nothing anyone could do, absolute tragedy

Though people have criticised Marco for his riding style at times, I think this could have happened to anyone. He was an entertaining rider to watch and brought some much needed excitement to Moto GP. He was the natural successor to Rossi, I will miss him a lot.

To true Hawkwind, Marco was definately going to be the successor to Rossi

RIP Marco. I loved watching him race. His style was one of flamboyance and risk taking but I liked it. He was one out of the box and was a future world champ without a doubt. Honda were grooming him and he would've had a full factory ride in a year or two. Here's my tribute to him.
