Ha ha....
Yep, Mr. Vonnegut has been my favorite writer since I was old enough to understand him.
My mother gave me a few of his books growing up, and since then I've been hooked. In fact, I've read them all.

He's just a brilliant writer, and I'd say one of the best American writers of the 20th century. If you haven't read his books, you should check them out. Slaughterhouse 5 is probably his best known, although one of my least favorites. They're all good, though, for different reasons.

Mr. Vonnegut was a true humanist, and a great man.

BTW, no trout were harmed in the choosing of my screen name..

I can't recall Farmer particularly... I know the name, and I'm sure I've read him somewhere along the line, just nothing in particular pops into my mind..
Asimov is a great one, too...

Nope, I'm still here Sprock (by the grace of mods..)

I saw that Daily Show... it was good.

I also read Kurts interview in Playboy from the 70's. It was good, too. (I shut my eyes for the pics)

Kurt was one of a kind for sure. He'll definately be missed by many people.
Can't feel too bad about it, though... as Kurt is up in Heaven now... lol..

Cool Slaughter House Five

The most important thing I learned on Tralfamadore was that when a person dies he only appears to die.

Yep, he's got some good ones.
I was gonna put one in my sig line last week, but didn't. I've used them a few other places.

I like these:

"We are healthy only to the extent that our ideas are humane."

"Just because some of us can read and write and do a little math, doesn't mean we deserve to conquer the Universe."

"We've sure come a long way since then. Sometimes I wish we hadn't. I hate H-bombs and the Jerry Springer show"

"For some reason, the most vocal Christians among us never mention the Beatitudes. But, often with tears in their eyes, they demand that the Ten Commandments be posted in public buildings. And of course that’s Moses, not Jesus. I haven’t heard one of them demand that the Sermon on the Mount, the Beatitudes, be posted anywhere.
"Blessed are the merciful" in a courtroom? "Blessed are the peacemakers" in the Pentagon? Give me a break!
"

I'm also a big fan of Vonnegut. I think I read everything he wrote.
