Default It's on the road again.

And what a learning experience it was. I learned that ABS cement and ABS plastic from Parts Express can be used to repair/rebuild fairings, that scratches hide until the final coat of paint dries, it's nearly impossible to color match red, and if the rattle can says paint between 70* and 80* F spraying at 55*F will result in orange peel.

Oh well, the next time will come out better. And, since the paint wasn't quite right the bike will be repainted next winter anyway.

After spending nearly six weeks trying to get the right color, and with summer running away I decided a two-tone paint job was preferable to not riding. Our schedule of family reunions, 50th anniversary celebrations and a wedding all requiring one to two weeks at a time gone meant precious few weeks left to ride. My first time out today since last August proved the decision was correct.

Anyway, here's the result:

Looking great, all your hard work looks to be paying off.

Are you going to leave the wheels white?

The orange peel is only noticeable when its standing still.

I am. They're a pain to keep clean, but I like them.

Great job DRam. Good to see you mobile again. Enjoy the two-tone paint - it something that's never bothered me too much!

Cheers, SB

Inspiration!

I nominate DRam for ROTM.

Hurricane owners have the toughest row to hoe.We know it.

He made the effort. Made some mistakes, but did it on his own.

Cheerful in all weathers.

Splendid behavior

Who Seconds?
