An inspirational thought:
from Performance Bike UK.
"Four bikes, why the feck do you need four motorbikes, you only have one arse?" Five bikes : " Yes, he's a bit of a motorcycle collector, a bit like those people that collect Ferrari's; but obviously much less expensive, Have I shown you my new handbag?" |

Huh?? :icon_saywhat:
Boys, boys, boys - I need you to elucidate clearly so I can unnerstan eh? None of this genuine backwoods hunnered percent boondock gibberish :D Cheers, SB |
Huh, I have 4 bikes now and I'm looking to get #5 in the next month or two... I'm a collector!
Of course when I sell one or two next Spring maybe I'll just be back to crazy. |

All you need is determination and a BIG safe, dry, entirely secure shed :D
And you only have enough batteries to keep one bike going at a time. Cheers, SB |
Bikes are like golf clubs, fishing rods and firearms, you can never have too much of a good thing and all have a specific purpose (or so we say)
|
You're right Jarvid.
I talked about this post with one of the guys at my work ; Easy to justify four : A CBR 1000 for weekends; a CB400 for commuting, an XL 250 for commuting on snowy days and a Tenere for the weekend days when you don't feel like riding on sealed roads. And maybe a little 100cc trail bike, tucked away in the back of the garage for when the big earthquake comes, and all the roads are fecked |
#7 here only trottin' in Seb's footsteps .....30 more to go
- relative to the subject matter envy or jealousy or both ! :D |

Hey Sprock, it's taken nearly 40 years to collect those 37 - every bike bar one since I started road riding at 16, so not really spectacular at all.
And I don't regret it at all :D Cheers, SB Does the one that got away haunt your dreams? |

Inspiring that you kept all of them bar one though Seb, shows great foresight in one so young (at the time of course :D)
Does the one that got away haunt your dreams? In my defense I was 17 and armed! :D Cheers, SB |
I'm starting to think TK, perhaps a few too many of your countrymen are having inspirational thoughts..........................
Celebrity photo leak: Fake links to nude photos cause nationwide internet crash in New Zealand - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) Cheers, SB |
Not guilty.
1) I didn't get one of those e-mails. 2) I don't think I'm quite that stoopid. 3) She is not on my favored list of "Celebrities I Would Quite Like to See Naked Photos Of", so even if 2) doesn't actually apply in my case, they would have to tempt me with better bait. |

XR100R and in the next month or two I'll be picking up an SV650s or F4i for the more mundane commuting/group weekend rides. |
^^ I am fortunate enough to live within about a two minute walk of my office.
It is a privilege I enjoy every day. But if it was too much further, I could probably justify buying one of the those crazy Super Motard things for a commute bike. I just love those things. |
I would have the following
1 CBR1000F for touring on tar 2 Honda Fireblade for track days 3 KLR650 for offroad and slower road work 4 A Gasgas trials bike for the rocks/logs/other stupid things people do on bikes 5 A GS1200 Adventure. For world touring So why not have at least 5 bikes ? :) AND A 4WD quad for when i visit TK  |
I'd like to have a Vincent in my living room.
Just as a casual conversation piece |

Hehehe. Last one I rode was a 250 Honda.
Good for farms...................... I see Otago were hammered in the local rugger league - 42-0 They must've been busy helping me with the tiedowns...............LoL |
Ha, goes to show I'm a trucker.
First I went tsk tsk for the appalling tie job, both rear and front ties are connected to the same spot in the center (wrong) and to make things worse it's the one and the same strap. Second I frowned upon the fact that the strapping point is outside the bed's side (wrong again for various reasons) It was only third when I realized what that strapping point actually is! I do hope they didn't have to drive far ;) Idiots... |
4 wheelers?. I hate the things with a passion.
We have one at work that we use for doing big area GPS surveys with. Every time I have used it, I come out more battered and bruised than I started the day. It's the slow detail slopey work that always gets me. Get a bit of a lean on, and I can't resist the temptation to put a foot down. Which then gets run over by a rear wheel. If I have made the fatal mistake of putting my left foot down, it then makes makes pull on more throttle as I get dragged under the left of the bike. Too many years on a two wheeler, I just can't change my mind set when I get into tricky situations. And those things are goddam heavy; I could probably live with ar55ing off an RM450 and having it land on top of me. Local farm stats would indicate that you don't often walk away from having one off those feckers landing on you. Needless to say that I simply refuse to use our 4 wheeler at work. Call me a girl if you want, but I just can't make the mind shift (and I'm still here typing this, which totally vindicates my decision) |

No way! That's my line of work too actually
I have always had my occupation listed as surveyor, in no way ashamed of what I do (at least I'm not a Real Estate Agent). And just on a techy kind of side note; we recently got a new Trimble R10 at work, absolutely stunning piece of kit. We managed to work out how to get the base station broadcasting to the internet. Using the the inbuilt SIM card on the TSC3 or a wireless hot spot means we can now arrive on any site within about 50 km of the office and instantly start working. Apologies to other members for having a wee bit of technical digression there. |
Very jealous of that... we're running Carlson hardware/software which is stunningly stupid equipment. We always run RTK though and are fortunate enough to tie into the state highway network of base stations so we can be a couple hundred miles away and get going immediately (provided we have a geiod clipped to that range).
