I got mail..........
After what seemed months (actually it was!
) of trying to find a suitable (read cheap) method of posting a semi-large item from the good old US of A, a method of internal US shipment to a company called SHIPITO (www.shipito.com) which then on-shipped the parcel to Australia was found.
After having quotes around $620 USD to ship the item, way less than half price via SHIPITO was - relatively speaking - reasonable.
Well, the item turned up today

So what is it??

Two screens for an '87 CBR1000F, one original and one tinted and longer.

But what is that lurking beneath swaddled in bubble wrap?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh my! A Corbin seat for an 87/88 CBR1000F

Very, very nice.
Thanks to CBR Forum member Strek for selling me the seat and the fine packaging and sending it to SHIPITO. His efforts are much appreciated. We started talking in April this year, and it took me until about two weeks ago to find a reasonable shipping method.
Thanks also to Sprock who also looked at postage variables from the East Coast!
Ya gotta love this forum.
Respect guys, respect.
Cheers, SB
PS: Those of you astute enough know I have two CBR1000Fs. A '91 and a silver '87. It's not going on the silver '87 so what to do???

True enough Wheelnut, and next time when you are nominated for the ROTM - and you WILL be nominated again, I'll assist with the campaign. Ask the boys, I'm relentless!!

Cheers, SB
Well, it's obvious to me.
TK, you recovered your seat before I came over to NZ to ride your bike. Such a kind, generous act has to be repaid. So, I got you a whole damn, shiny Corbin seat to sit on when you come over here to ride.
Just gotta find the rest of the bike
If I don't find the bike, you can just sit on the seat in front of the television and make brrrrm, brmmmm noises.................Cheers, SB
I thought that you guys had a new policy, that everything coming in by ship had to go and stay in PNG ?.
Clearly in this case, the ball has been dropped on that vote catcher.
