Default Hung-over

I just noticed there has been no new threads in the saloon yet this year.

Are we all so old it takes a few days to even look at anything that reminds us

of drinking after the new years celebrations!

I was mellow and pretty low key until the shot-fest that started up after midnight.

wounded would aptly describe my condition the next day

After a rather large night, I got up yesterday about midday. Managed to keep the act together and cook for our guests till about 2 PM, then just had to go and have another wee lie down.

4 PM, I re-emerged feeling all bright as a button and ready to face the day.

Sadly, that only lasted till 4:15 PM, and I realized I wasn't quite ready to do the whole "upright" thing just yet.

Today has been better though; guests gone, back into a more normal routine.

So glad New Year only happens once a year.

Mrs SB and I had a quiet night at home on New Years Eve, until the shared 3rd bottle of Champagne was consumed, then it became VERY interesting

Bit slow on the morrow though, it must be said.

Now a very large bushfire is starting to threaten our town, so a late one tonight.

Cheers, SB

Console yourself mate, that the old stone cottage has probably seen a few fires in its' time.

You know the drill, gum leaves out of the guttering, and stand by with the garden hose.

All the best to you and yours, wish I could to do more to help, but I'm on the wrong side of the Tasman.

Thanks Teeks,

Live: Fires burn across Victoria, South Australia - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

4 houses, 2 sheds gone up at Kersbrook and the Mount Pleasant Quick Response Vehicle was destroyed as well, but thankfully no loss of life in this local fire. Not sure about the South East fire or that in Victoria.

Catastrophic fire danger tomorrow as well and winds predicted to be 50kph very early. We (again) can see the glow of the fire.

The view west from the back yard

Cheers, (kind of ), SB
