Horse ****
While out on a great ride the Sunday before last I almost ran through a rather large horse made road obsticle. It was right on the entrance to rather sharp right hand corner. Had I not missed it, I probably would have been dodging trees, fenses and maybe cows. Here in this part of the states, we have people called Amish. They don't believe in using electricity, gas engines, etc. and use horse and buggy for transportation on fantastic cycling roads.
Do any of you other folks around the world have to deal with this??

We don't have the Amish, but we have cows, horses, foxes, sheep, goats, trailers, donkeys and stupid locals who wander into the road for no apparent reason. I have had to dodge all of the above on my rides out into the country.
Piles of cow or horse manure are no fun, that stuff is slippery as **** and if you hit some it goes all over the bike and stinks like hell................yuk.

Yeah , your not alone 931000F We get horse **** , some pretty grizzly road-kill and like you , always just before a bend!
My theory is the horse was probably going so fast , he wasn't sure he could slow down enough for the bend and **** himself
Next time look for hoofy skid marks
In fact I've probably left a couple of squishy obstacles on the road myself

Oww yer... up in our Dairy country where the roads are open and sweet....quite often you will come flying over a crest , or round a bend and not only run into the chitt ALL over the road from these bastards crossing every day to get milked , but if you are un lucky , you can run into the whole bloody heard!!
Or a million of these stupids , seemingly waiting for something to come squash them... !!!

He he...93.. I feel your pain. As if rabbits, groundhogs (woodchucks as I think you all call them up there) and deer weren't bad enough...
I live in PA, and the Amish aren't too bad where I am, but they are certainly around. Worse up in central and northern PA...geezus...they're everywhere. Horse shlt is bad news. What's even worse is when you come around a quick corner to find the whole dam buggy in front of you going 5mph.... complete with an orange triangle of death.
Steve, my god....That's horrible. I can imagine all the people saying "look at all the cute sheep!"..... BLAH!
You should get a big truck and mow them all down first. Then come back with the bike for a good, safe ride.
BTW, when Nevadaman sees those cows, he's probably gonna have a horrible flashback and a goshdam heart attack!!

One of these buggers comes through while they are playing suicide sheep games on the road ...and they run straight through them at 100mph !!!!
and that's no chit!!!
I have seen blood baths 100 meters long up north from 50+ sheep getting trashed in one hit .. what a ****ing mess that makes...
Nevada wont be bothered...that why they call em Cowboys down his way isn't it ...lol

Cows and nightmares
Just like when Murdock gave me that laced PCP smokey thing! I am having flashbacks of cows, cows and more cows!!! No, there were only 6 of them range puppies, but I missed them!
Nevada has what you call open range land all over the place. They just put grating in the road so the cows can't go too far down the road (like 10 miles!). The grating is called Cattle Crossing and that is the fence!!! There are very few fences so the cows can cross the road, sit in the road and chit in the road. I live in a place called Bridle Path HOAssocition. What do you think every Tom, Dick and Harry has out here? Right Bridle Path means horse chit area! The wind blows a lot out here and we get the neighbor's horse chit in our yard a lot. It is in the street and all over. Great to be back in the early 1900s with horse chit everywhere!!! This is also Mustang country so the wild horses are running around in pacs like little gang members!!! One of these days, I will probably end up in a horse's **** or a cow's ****. But, at least I will be warm!
Thanks for making my flashbacks come to life again Steve..... And just think, I didn't have to smoke anything this time for the wonderful paranoid feeling you gave me of "horses, cows and sheep" {oh my}.... Kind of like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz "Lions, tigers and bears, oh my!".....
