The olympics nowadays just seems to be a comp to see which superpower can make the best undetectable drugs.

I saw on the news tonight that the Aussie news broadcasts are now only showing the top 9 in the medal race cos N.Z. is in place 10 and the "Lucky Country" is in place 17.
Oh dear how sad never mind

Move along, nothing to see here!

But well done to the Kiwis TK (and JK). Better sportspersons on the day - in ALL aspects of the word. On the radio yesterday morning they were pointing out that Kazakhstan was ahead of the Aussies in the medal race. I think they like sheep more than us or the Kiwis do?! Perhaps THAT is the secret

Seems to be a little too much of this from my point of view...........

Cheers, SB

PS: Still haven't watched a second of the games, but the Garage Mahal is coming along nicely

Just coming back to this Tim, it really doesn't seem that far removed from the MotoGP riders who can have another bike sitting in the pit garage with wet tyres on it, just in case it starts to rain.

Every sport has it's own little foibles and traditions, that those of us that don't play can never really understand.

Apparently, there is a rule in Ice Hockey that says you must take your helmet off before you punch another player.

Go figure?

Here's one for Shadow as well!

Hat's off the the South African athlete "Blade Runner" - Oscar Pistorius - too. The first double amputee to compete in the OLYMPICS. Sheer guts and determination. Very, very admirable.

Blade Runner makes Olympic history in London - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

So; at the Paralympic Games, do they have a few special parking spots marked out for people that don't have a wheelchair?

Just a thought.

Yep! And you must grab him by the collar, never below the waist.

I haven't a chance to watch hardly any of the Games. I did have a chance to see the UK Men's Team Sprint from the velodrome. They ran a spectacular "blink and you missed it" WR race for the Gold. Mighty impressive!

Thanks Bear he is indeed a brave man.

I have a friend who is a double leg amputee - his car number plate says "LEGLESS ZN"
IT TAKES A SPECIAL KIND OF GUY TO DO WHAT THEY DO WITH THEIR LIMITATIONS....
I couldn't do it.
