Did however, see Boris Johnson's (Mayor of London) very public rebuttal of Mitt Romneys' critique on Londons preparedness for the Games.
Boris is on the top of the list of desired dinner guests for me.
He was once asked to describe himself in one word - "Shambolic" was the reply.
Anyway, back on topic
Fantastic the games are underway with a very successful start.
Now you Aussie athletes, BLITZ those world records Just a brief aside - some of the Aussie girls look spectacular in their cozzies
Cheers, SB
PS: Love to have a pint with you at the Ace Café but I'll probably be in the Northern Territory working .............

The Australian performance in the pool thus far has been nothing short of disappointing. They seem to be settling for the old saying " I'm proud of myself for making it to the final. " Sorry but if you do nothing else but train for a particular event and do nothing else other than that for four years straight the result should have been far better, especially when the hype of how good they are all supposed to be nearly drives you mad on a daily basis over here. I'll be glad when its over. Just another over rated sports carnival imo. Here's hoping the track and field athletes do better as the majority of the swimmers have been very disappointing.

Random Olympic thoughts
1) Yes, a bloody spectacular opening ceremony, you can't go wrong with a bit of Mike Oldfield can you?
2) Saudi Women's Beach Volleyball Team : in full burqa's: absolutely zero audience appeal.
3)We're all to scared to talk to Bordo now that he has outed himself as being from the dark side.

Funny thoughts TK. Although I'll still talk to Bordo. No shunning allowed!
We have not watched 1 second of the Olympics for no other reason than we are frantically trying to finish the Garage Mahal and have been attacking it after work.
I wish ALL the Olympians well, but someone has to be first of the losers eh??
Cheers, SB

It does suck to put years and years into something only to be say 4th place due to a few hundredths of a second. A tenth of a second is the difference between going home a hero or who the hell was that guy that finished 4th?
I still don't understand how the hell riding a freaking horse around in a small yard comes close to an Olympic event. If the rider were juggling shape knives or shooting arrows at something, I may understand it somewhat. They just sit there and the horse goes around the yard. They can change the horse out and they get the medal not the horse. Its the queerest event going.
