Anybody using a GPS on the 1000f? If so, can you post some pics of how you mounted it. And what it blocks view wise?

Hey Man lets see if I can help.
Some members mount the GPS with the tank ring mount kit. I use a tank bag and go a different route.

(1) First you need a 7/8" clamp to hold the 1" RAM ball like the ones in this LINK.
Remove the clamp on the clutch reservoir and install this in its place.
Note: There are other universal ones but are not as nice looking.

(2) You'll need the RAM-MC-349-1U one inch ball.
Note: RAM-MC-349-1 has 1.25mm pitch, -1U has 1.5mm pitch needed.

(3) The RAM-B-201U-A is the short arm to connect the 1" balls of the above part and the part below.
Note: RAM-B-201U is the long arm, -A is the short one needed.

(4) A holder, either a specific one or the X-Grip RAM-HOL-UN7BU.
Note: I use the X-Grip on my other bike to hold my EZ-PASS. The EZ-PASS on my 1kF is under the plastic just above the headlight.

(5) Power
Note: I use a marine power outlet ty rapped to the bars.
I lost the cover and plan on replacing with one that has a spring loaded cover like in this
I don't have interference problems. I turn the bars far right when mounting and check for contact.

Thank you for the information. Looks like its actually pretty good there. I did manage to get mine on, but I changed the handlebars to renthals and it gave me some added bar space. In the picture it is dead center. But it blocked my view of the gauges. So now I moved it to more of the position you have. I am to work on it more tomorrow. I cut the handlebars down 1 inch on each side. Plus I have a touratech locking cradle to add on. Always something...lol.

Here it is with the Touratech locking mount added on. The Touratech could have a bit of a smoother operation, but it works.

And just the mount without the GPS in.

Maybe remove the cross bar and rotate it backwards.
I don't see the need for the cross bar on a street machine, unless you plan on dropping her a bunch. lol

I have thought about getting rid of the bar. I just left it on because it came with it.
