Ortho surgeon says no go with pining as the way she broke the leg(squashed up)the kneck part would not receive enough blood flow, so we got another opinion from a Sydney based ortho who also agreed the pin would most likely not work, so the dog now has a shorter leg! She will still have use of it but it will be painful for a while and physio therapy to boot. At least it will slow down some of the hole digging in the back yard. I will pick her up in the morning to start her road to recovery.

Also, I might have a soft spot for dogs, cats, especially roaming ones, are a different matter.

Dog has been home for a few days now and has to be kept confined for about 2 weeks(There goes my planned hunt/camp trip) She is happy enough but in a lot of pain, so am I from carrying her up and down our back yard, she weighs 23kg after all.

Good on you Jarvid! Some folk just don't get the whole 'a pet is for life' thing and just discard them...that's why I've got 4 I suppose.

Thanks fellas, just carried her up the back for another toilet run, near fell over myself! Too much p1ss, should go to bed except it might spin...Qld mate showed up today and been at the RSL all arvo/evening, must have some dinner to sober up although it is getting a bit late may as well wait for brekky!

HAHA! Should know better mate! I haven't had room spin for years...used to happen quite a bit though.
