Default Consensus Of Opinion?

I'd like to know the general consensus of opinion on this sprocket please.

I know all the stuff about changing chain and sprockets as a set, but at this price I may put one away until needed. Thanks

It says hard anodised, so I think probably aluminium.

It probably won't last very long, then eat the chain.

This is the blurb at the bottom of the ebay page

Renthal rear chainwheels are manufactured from a specially enhanced aluminum alloy produced especially for chainwheels. Excellent resistance to wear combined with a very high tensile strenghth

Personally, I know nothing about them!

Renthal is a very well known make over here and is normally very expensive, hence my interest.

Reputable company, I imagine it'll give you value for your dollar.
I've never heard anyone speak badly, of them.

Yeah, it's aluminum, but if you're smooth on the throttle, you'll
get the mileage.

The price is good, but remember, it's cheaper to buy the full kits (chain & 2 sprockets).
By buying this one rear sprocket, you'll have to build the rest of the kit yourself.
The added cost of a chain and front sprocket (by the piece), might off-set the bargain.

So do some pricing research of the kit vs piece, to be sure.

I always ran these on my dirt bikes over the years but on a road bike that's putting out 130 bhp I'm not so sure I'd use them. Just MHO though.

You can add my vote as a nay.

Off road or racing applications where weight is an issue than maybe. The anodized surface is about .001" (.025mm) thick. Once it wears that aluminum sprocket may as well be made of cold butter. Replacing just the rear sprocket would have it gone quick.

I'd stick with metal and buy a can of gold spray paint if that's what your into.
