Default Cicada Killer up my sleeve

Yesterday, while riding, something went up my sleeve and started to tare the hell out of me. I had my leathers zipped at the sleeve so it didn't go all the way up my arm. It got me in about 5 spots behind my wrist. Just as it stung me I was rolling into town and slowed down and it flew out of my sleeve. I was huge. I think it was a Cicada Killer. I am having a little problem with them this year as they are undermining my driveway with all their digging. They are plentiful this year.

Today my arm is killing me. Everything is swollen from finger tips to arm pit. It feels like my arm is going to split open.

Those pictures gave me the shivers. Thank the powers that be we don't have those here. Yellow jackets and bald faced hornets are bad enough.

Hope you recover soon!

Monster bugs, no thank you

We don't don't have anything that big here unless you count slugs and they're harmless

Hey Timbo,

Sorry to hear you got stung - but be grateful it didn't fly inside an open visor and lodge between the foam and your head! I had a bee (Apis melifera) do that to me once.

Hope the pain and swelling reduces soon (use Tea Tree oil)

Personally I think they are beautiful insects *

Cheers, SB

Thumbs up youch

Youch! That had to hurt = frigging bee with attitude!!

tea tree oil for sting or a good antihistamine cream

tip - glove cuffs over sleeves stops bugs going up your sleeve

I HATE BUGS! Nuke 'em outta your drive way for sure. For ground hornets I wait for nightfall, light a road flare and drop it in the opening of the nest hole. Cover with a metal pale/tub and let the gas do it's thing.
