CBR Haiku
Ok mental challenge time for the mentally challenged Saloon inhabitants..........
Surfing the internerd during a relaxing time and I thought of Haiku.
Sir George Sansom called haiku "little drops of poetic essence."
A traditional Japanese haiku is a three-line poem with seventeen syllables, written in a 5/7/5 syllable count. Often focusing on images from nature, haiku emphasizes simplicity, intensity, and directness of expression.
That go something like this.............
five syllables here
and now you have seven more
and now five, happy?
They can be traditional such as;
Will we meet again?
Here at your flowering grave:
two white butterflies
― MatsuoBasho, loose translation by Michael R. Burch
or silly...............
Haikus are easy
But sometimes they don't make sense...
Refrigerator
So have at it: Here's mine
Honda1000F
Remove the exhaust pipes and......
It makes me quite deaf
Ride, ride till the morn
Darkness makes way for the dawn
The mind wakes anew
Cheers, SB
PS: It was this or Limerick's and I thought I'd have to ban the lot of us if we started down THAT track

A hand in the air
Tells of a mutual interest
Love the brotherhood
A majestic beast
No fear for kilometers
Friend you can count on
Endless desire
Hear the horizon calling
To nowhere and back
One more kid cartoon
And my brain starts to ferment
I need to go ride
Tells of a mutual interest
Love the brotherhood
A majestic beast
No fear for kilometers
Friend you can count on
Endless desire
Hear the horizon calling
To nowhere and back
One more kid cartoon
And my brain starts to ferment
I need to go ride
