Hey Tk.

The source of these crazy stories you often post are cited by the Otago Daily Times.

Are these people your neighbors?

The ODT is a regional paper, so it gets read throughout the Otago region.

Otago is slightly larger than Belgium, so no; they're not actually my neighbors.

But it is pretty unusual to travel to somewhere in Otago and not run across someone that you know, or have a mutual acquaintance.

The mutual acquaintance is most likely to be the most attractive of the sheep in any given flock.
Such is life in the south.

"Sigh"

So many sheep, so little time.

Breaking news just in :

"Southern Sheep Breeders Concerned at Apparent Genetic Mutation"

"Reports are coming in from Otago of an outbreak of some sort of genetic mutation in this years early lambs.

Initial reports indicate that the affected lambs will attempt to steal unattended farm bikes and use them to do wheelies and big drifter slides. They seem also to prefer G&T to milk.

Affected male lambs also seem to become quite excitable when listening to Shania Twain music."

Go figure, one of life's little mysteries.

I hear New Zealand sheep can hear the sound of gumboots from 100 meters away.........
enhanced hearing and visual acuity must be other mutations.

Could be worse. Could be a guy grabbing glue instead of... moisturizer.

Have to say, I was a bit intrigued by that too.

I would have thought in this day and age, where even the most basic phones have Caller Display, that emergency services would be able to do a reverse number look-up?

That has to be a whole lot more efficient than playing a quick game of Twenty Questions.

Probably some privacy law that prevents it?

If you call 911 in the USA and hang up they call you back immediately so caller ID is in place. Not sure what happens if you phone the White house.......................
Same if you phone 10111 here - it's the emergency flying squad number.
You may get a call in a week or two...........
