This may be the worst idea ever, or it may actually be the best idea ever.

185 hp of Busa engine in a Smart car. I can see how that could be quite fun, but also a recipe for some bad sh!te.

Maybe better to not let your teenage son buy one of these.

Better paint dots to all the sides cause when you throw that thing sideways into a curve it will roll like dice

It's probly great fun -as a toy, but doubt it has any use value. What does that thing cost? The vid doesn't show on my mobile. Think something like a Renault Clio Renaultsport V6 would be moren"sensible" while still having the engine in the back. Oh I can only imagine the noise in the cockpit when you let er rip...

Is it true that down there you can pretty much bolt a motorcycle engine into a toilet, lift them on a skateboard and get plates on it? Would be a huge battle to get that legal here, if possible at all...

Oddly enough, I think you'd be outright safer on the 'busa. IIRC, Top Gear did a segment on a Smart Car where essentially when pushed, the car cannot turn, the under steer is so great that when it got to the hairpin, the car essentially went straight and off of the track.

So, with that said, sign me up!

I think it's absolutely awesome, for what he's using it for which is a toy. Having said that, it might be a good way to win some drag races with some unsuspecting person.
I have a friend who had a 4-wheeler with a Z750 engine in it. It was fun to play with, but all you were guaranteed to do was hurt yourself if you did anything serious with it.

Some years ago when we lived in Dunedin there used to be this guy that would ride past our place at lunchtime on a Gixxer 750 powered 4 wheeler. As he powered up the hill it made a sound that would melt your ears, but would also make your heart break.

Sometimes that noise just makes you loose all sense of grown up responsibility; and just makes you want to be a teenage hoon again.

I think the wee Smart Car meets that gorgeous noise criteria.

But of course we all know you're (just like me) a middle aged hoon Seb.

Would you want one of your children anywhere near that thing?
