Default Call me Ishmael?

Purchased at a recent storage auction for $128.00. A 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis. Towed home for free. Today I started with an initial douching to remove the algae growing on it and so Mrs. Woof (yes, we are reconciled) would stop making the eyesore in my front drive comments.

It has sat for 4 years so this will be the first of many treatments the finish will receive.

Locksmith coming next Tuesday to cut a new key so in the meantime I'll remove the plugs and squirt a little oil down the holes and crank the engine around by hand to free up the rings.

If it starts, the project will begin.

Name the car contest.

$128? I would have driven straight to the crusher and tripled my investment within 5 minutes!

What kind of project are you thinking of doing with it, should it start?

Concept. Project Moonshine Runner. One step ahead of The Law

It has a V-8 and resembles a Washington State Patrol Crown Vic just enough that people will get out of my way.

Needs dual exhaust, limited slip rear end with 3.55 gears off of police interceptor. There are plenty of those around at the yards. Cop wheels,
bigger front brakes. 13 inchers off of a 2002- up Crown. We''l see where it goes.

There's a you tube vid on how to modify it to a 5-speed manual from a Mustang donor. Pretty cool

Name it, "The Great White Hope". Or you could stuck the moonshine theme and name it " White Lightening ".

Or you could go a little offbeat with a movie reference, "White Cars Can't Jump".

Ah, the memories seeing that brings back. Our '96 Crown Vic was one of our favorite vehicles.

Wonder Car (will it run? will it last? was it worth it?)
