Blown Away!
My God , the wind today is terrible! Was waiting at a junction when a gust of wind nearly blew me off the bike
and that was standing still!!
We get a lot of wind here by the coast , especially when I go up over the South Downs ( hills for non-initiated in quaint English terminology , dunno why they dont call'em Ups?). Up there it's blowy even on a calm day , but you get used to leaning into the wind , it's just the sudden gusts that get you

Yer , we know that prob well Hawk..
As I always tell Kerri.... its nice being near the ocean like us , but if you can see it, it can see you
and the winds from our Bass Straight and the pacific can be wicked at times here..
Our freeway 5 min from here has days where I have traveled 20 klms at a 20% angle all the while trying to stop from being blown clear the across lanes..
bad chit Hawk.... yu gotta take care when you run into them that bad mate..

Strange, because it's been windy as hell here, too. Last few days were bad. Leanin' hard...goin' straight... then you get those hard gusts in the other direction that send you wobbly...
Looks a lot better today, but this is the first day I haven't ridden in a week. Supposed to be thunderstorms today, but it's calm and 70F at the moment... WTF?

Yep, We get some wind out here in the desert too. Some days the wind whips off the Sierra Mountains at 90 mph (up to 120 mph over the mountain tops!). That is enough to close the highways down to high profile vehicles and motorcycles!!! Then there is the sand/dust. Well, they call it "dust" but it is really a sand blasting machine wind!!! I hate riding in the wind. Today it is only 30 mph and not bad, but when it gets blowing, I stay indoors!!! Well, when all the tumble weeds are gone - yes, I kick those suckers right over the fence into the neighbor's yard. She must love her new decorated yard - I call it Tumble Weed City!!!
Hey Nevada! With all that sand flying around , you could strip your wheels back to bare metal! Maybe I'll ship you mine as well , there over due for a re-paint

Nice to see your not so busy at work , you don't have time for a chat

Ha ha..."Tumbleweed City"
I call my neighbor's property "Bitchtown"
My buddy at work ruined a set of Harley wheels at the beach last year. All that sand and salt just wrecked 'em! All pitted to hell and back, now. Sand....bad!

Hawk, I would have to quit my job if it took up my CBR chat time!
I was over on the the thread about me looking for another bike and put your Zappa song in there as a reference! That song is stuck in my fricking brain now!!!
I think I am going to have to give my ear a huge enema to get that song out of there!
Maybe I should go to the Zoo and get an Elephant to fill his trunk up with water, put his truck up to my ear and smack him in the nuts to blow old Frank's song out the other side!
Yea, the weather report will say, "Blowing dust" and I guess we are suppose to think of that stuff on the table as "dust", but it feels like a fricking sandblaster..... I cover my bikes inside the garage and the darn "dust" gets all over them. Even under the cover! Looks like sand to me.... Some times, it could take some of your paint off your rims.
During a "dust storm" is the only time I will not wear my leapord skin thong out on a ride! It chafs my butt cheeks too much!!!

Yeah Nevada Man , sand in the crack is no joke , you'd have to use that thong like a piece of dental floss to get that stuff out

That dust/sand in your garage sounds like another pain in the *** , but one you can't solve with a whispy thong thingy
.
Is there anyway you could seal up the doors and windows? Better to stop the stuff gettin in altogether , if you know a big storms comin in , maybe even use duct tape over the cracks?
Though I think not your butt crack

. Trust me it hurts toooo much when you pull it off
