Hey Bear
Oh! And I'd have the bird stuffed!

I think that bird is stuffed already............

I remember when Hawk hit that bird - still have pics of his smashed screen somewhere.........

I'd be more inclined to think it was a smaller bird, maybe an owl or a pheasant of some kind.
Can't see a turkey fitting in the space to be honest.

We often have guineafowl (like a fat pheasant) fly up and we hit them. Our club President had one hit him full in the face at 100MPH - broke his visor, his helmet and his nose. How he didn't fall I'll never know........

The wild turkeys around here are not like the farm raised ones you get at the store, not much meat on them. When heading down the road, looking across fields, you can usually see families of turkeys with their young. The young ones are like a big pheasant. Pheasants around here are just about unheard of these days, just about all gone.

update

Up to now I have reported what I have been told. I have somewhat new info.

I took her to a few doctors visits today. She told me she was in a turn when the bike shuttered and she lost her brakes. She told me the bike was suddenly going straight off the road with no brakes. She has no clue what happened. She saw pictures of the bird stuffed in her rear brake peddle. She said it looked like a pheasant.

What I personally think that happen from what she told me is, she ran over a pheasant with her front tire in the turn at which point she lost control of the front end and front braking. She also lost rear braking due to the bird being packed in the rear brake peddle. When she ran over the bird while leaned over, the bike had to be up-righted to gain control and put her in the path directly into the guardrail. Due to lack of braking there was nothing she could have done.

She would like to ride again but doesn't want to risk hurting herself as he is pined and plated together. She has worked in an ER and knows the risk of getting hurt again.

Between doctor visits we had lunch, she had to sip a shake through a straw. The lady serving us told us she has a friend who hit a turkey while on a bike. The guy was hit in the chest and knocked off the bike at 70 mph. His bike went some distance and crashed.

OK, so we're sitting there taking about the guy who hit the turkey and guess who was in the ER when that guy came in?
