K So about 2 weeks ago I ride to work in the morning with no issues. Get off work very late, that night and goto start the bike and it acts like the batterys low but starts. Get home and think nothing off it cause I was tired and was no caring. Next morning I goto start it and nothing... batteries dead... I jump it and it starts and keeps running for a little bit so I run back inside to take care of somethings and after about 2-3minutes I hear it die... go outside and batteries dead again... jump it again and leave it attached for a moment... everything is fine, disconnect cables and run back inside again. Ofcourse it dies again. Panic rush rush late for work had to borrow a car. I come home with my meter from work and sure enough battery is close to holding no charge... jump it its running holding about 13v, disconnect cables and watch it drop till bike dies... ugh I jump to conclusions and assume its the reg/rec... so I ordered 1, got here today, I attached it to the harness and jumped it and after a bit it dies again... so im starting to panic here and worry my stator is shot... quick question... I dont have my meter with my right now so ill bring it tomorrow and test, but does the R/R need to be bolted to the factory location for a ground in any way and thats why its not charging with the replacement?

Bike won't be charging at idle. It's probably just a bad battery.
Usually a good charge will kick in around 3k rpms.

edit: However, if you got a replacement r/r you may just want to keep it. (or you may have to?). It's pretty much inevitable that your r/r will fail at some point.
Did you get an aftermarket one from Ricks Electrics/Electrex or did you buy a stock replacement?

Last battery receipt I had, I put it up in the visor pocket of my jeep.
Well, it was one of those thermal printed receipts and it turned all white within a couple months. Just looked like a blank slip of paper.....lol...
Most places have the receipt on file any more, though.

When you bought it did you pay cash or card? If you paid on a card your bank might be able to give you proof of the transaction. That should be enough for any half decent dealership to give you another for free..just a thought mate. BTW, I think it's the battery causing your woes too.

Well... I replaced the battery... jumped it, let it idle for a while and it seemed to be doing good... sweet... ride it around the yard for a minute or two n/p cool cool... shut it off and ofcourse it doesnt turn back on... ah well I didnt have it high enough in the rpms to charge... so I jump it again and take it for a nice 20 minute ride in high rpms... I notice as im coming home everytime Im easing off the clutch around 2k it stutters... thatd happen normally if I was coming off to hard and it wasnt rolling fast enough... but I was barely easing off and it was doing it.. and second it was below or above 2k it was fine... anyways... 20 minute trip in high rpms... get home and shut it off... batteries dead... I dont know wtf is going on
