Default Ahoy hoy

Hi all!

I am currently in the middle of doing a deal on a 1990 CBR1000F-L

Its a bit tatty round the edges, needs a battery (the previous owner mentions overcharging the old one, not sure if he did it off the bike, or if the reg/reg is duff).

Has recently had an oil change and carb sync, but as the owner is moving he needs it gone. It has only been sitting since November as well so no dried up seals from none use.

All for £300. Cant wait!

Im a big biker, only been biking for 5 years, but had lots of bikes.

so far:

2010 Yamaha YBR125
1999 Honda NSR125
2009 Honda XL125 Varadero
1981 Honda CB250 Superdream (that I converted to diesel)
2001 Yamaha FZS600 Fazer

I am currently on a 2008 BMW F800 ST and a 1991 Yamaha XJ600, also with a diesel conversion.

Looking to pick up the CBR as another toy! (cant help myself!)

I am a big DIYer and do lots of write ups, plenty to have a look at over here
(not just for motorbikes, there is car stuff etc there too)

Am I right in thinking that the CBR1000F wasnt available in black in 1990?

Welcome (again) Alexander,

I had a look at your blog - great stuff with the diesel bikes

For the colours of the CBR1000F each year - have a look at this.........

Thanks indeed! They often have a mixed reception with bikers, many say "Why the hell would you do that!"

Becuase I can is the normal response!

I have had a look at that but it misses out 1990

Welcome to the mayhem !
I've seen a few electric bikes, so diesel isn't much of a stretch.
I'm waiting to see what happens when someone fits a rotary
engine in a 1000F. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEK

Thanks!

Thats why I ask, as this bike has been repainted at one point, its now all black.

My aim is to get it back to the red/white with blue colour scheme.
