Hi, owzitgoin
I have uploaded pics to my album, but you have to start from end ?. Well then this is how i modded my cct, Here we go. What you need is a kawasaki gpx750 cct or similar. if you use a different one it cant be much different because it is very close fitting inside the engine.pic 2 & 2a. Next we need to attach this to the honda cct. on the kwak cct saw of the side humps, leave holes there for bolts, pics 1 & 1a.
On the honda cct remove the lower plunger part by grinding the rivit heads off, knock them out and bin the plunger part pic 3 & 4
Just place the kwak cct onto the honda cct so you can see how it will look pic 5 & 6.
on the top of the honda cct drill holes on the top and tap to 6mm ?. pic 5a & 6b.
Next make a bracket for 8mm long bolt, you need 2 nuts for bolt, then bolt to top of cct pic 9 & 10.
In the mock up the cct is in full slack position the bolt in the top holds the kwak cct in this position during install pic 11 & 11a. pic 12b shows cct at full tension.
When cams are in chain on, remove slowly, bolt and bracket to tension camchain then turn engine over a couple of times with socket on crank to make sure it is fully adjusted up. but we have not finnished the mod yet.
Now take the mock up to a local engineering shop and get them to weld flat bar ( or you could mod this part to give more strenght.) to honda cct. make sure they are flat and square, these welds need to be as good and solid as poss the are load bearing. pic 13 & 14 mine have'nt been welded yet i did say i was in the middle of doing this one..
Get cone grinder and gring out so kwak cct sits flush drill holes for bolts pic 15a & 16 when you bolt together i used high tensile nut n bolts, nylock nut with thread lock bolted down 1.4 nm, grind exess of the new feet so they are same size as kwak cct. make sure you have full range of adjustment pic 11 full slack and 12b full tension, job done.
Now install cct in your bike. follow workshop manual.
when cams are out remove oil baffle plate pic 17 you do not need anymore + you will not get cct in. i just undid the 2 head nuts then re bolted down a little more than torque settings.
After i did this i noticed big diferance in power, make sure you re-set the teppets, and re balance carbs.
Sorry chaps for it being a bit long winded, but it has sorted my bike out, it sounds a lot of messing around but when you do it it's not, i tried to give full instructions on how i did the mod. should help you guy n dolls out.
More pics on the post following ........

yeah Raiden.....they'll all be custom works of art !!!!
Here's the tensioner I'll be going with from Kwak 900
It has a ratchet tensioner at the tip and a wider foot
The spring can be taken out easily.
The ratchet prevents slack under severe engine breaking
My
Also
My bike shop were not impressed with this stuff they'll
only entertain the crack the case Honda chain loop
routine..........figures ..........$$$$$$ !
They did say they've done a few where they "shaved" down
the tensioner ?? Had to leave at that point, but will find out
what they meant by that exactly. Probably the chain runner
rethread kinda thing I suspect

Will be interesting to see a few of these ideas implemented ..
Hope yu's remember to thrash your cameras when you do them ...so we can suck the blood out of your ideas ..
Gotta make yu wonder why bloody Honda did not alter the buggers early in the development stages of the 1000F way back when

You are dead right there Raiden.........but well there will be
Like I said each will be custom I'm sure. I plan on having a spare tensioner
bracket/frame assembly on which I can cut, weld and experiment on first.
I plan on this tensioner, the spring does not have to be super heavy in this
design the ratchet does the work
Never say never

yep tensioners are a fairly universal problem. maybe A manual APE tensioner
might be better as Shadow mentioned ............we'll see .............
