yeah mid sixties sounds about right, but I can't look at the clock when it's pulling that hard either.

Just replaced my clutch today and it was really easy. I had just changed the oil a couple days before so I just put the bike on the sidestand and it wasn't a problem. My old clutch plates were still above the service minimum as were my clutch springs. The steel plates looked alright so I just scuffed them up with 80 grit. The roads are wet right now so the tire slips before the clutch, but we'll see if it did the trick soon. If it still slips I guess that I'll need to get some stronger springs.

Did you put any grease or anything on the pushrod? My haynes manual says something about lubricating the push rod...but I am afraid grease would get on the fiber plates.

I just pulled the cover last night. Your pics are SOOO much better than the haynes manual. Thanks so much!!!

I have a 1990 honda cbr 1000. I recently put in a clutch myself. did everything just like u to a T, EXCEPT, i didnt put the clutch plate with the slit( in the rectangle part that raises of the plate) in first. and i think my had one with the teeth in very first. followed by a clutch plate. Now, when i ride, as long as i dont beat on it, it doesnt slip. ive been taking it easy, recently put on over a hundred miles, I went to pass a car today, and RIPPED it, IT SLIPPPPPEDDDDD!!! talk about pissssed. anyone with any ideas or help???? thanks!

 

Did use recently replace the oil? If yes, did you use car oil by mistake?

 

HI,just want to say thank-you for posting the pics along with the step by step instructions.It does not look to difficult nor that time consuming
unlike a Ninja 1000R that I was thinking of buying before my Hurricane.
The clutch was slipping on that bike and the guy who was selling it told
me it was about 1 day of labor to replace.If it wasn`t for that I would not be
here on this great forum with the rest of you,I`d be on some Kawasaki forum
complaining about that bloody noise from that engine at idle that sounds
like a bunch of loose parts inside the motor.LOL,LOL
