Kudos to the man that posted this , very VERY good, everyone has been totally spoilt with this guide.
Right ,i'm about to do this job on my 88 CBR1000f,question,I have bought new tensioner kit :CCT
Kit 04102-MM5-010 But ,I'm a bit confused as to whether I need the two extra parts : (oil guide and plate) ? My local bike shop (Very good) can not find the two parts listed with Honda,do I need them ? I'm really not sure?

If you bought the kit you mention then the parts (oil guide and plate) should be included in with the installation. You have all you need.
Take your time with the job - enjoy the pleasure of the experience and the reward of the result.

I picked the parts up earlier, no oil guide or plate in the box, just two bags, tensioner and large cover plate (I assume) .I even questioned the guys there having seen the two extra bits in the guide written by you .They searched but could'nt locate the part numbers.They were convinced everything in the box was all I needed, really not sure now.Where do the parts fit? Yes - you will need these parts.
The oil guide parts were part of the upgrade after 1987/88. They direct oil to the cam chain. See the retrofit instructions from Honda on attached page 3 (remember to remove the 2 washers - as instructed - when fitting).
You ask.. "Could they be attached already to the parts I have do you think ?" NO. YOU WILL SEE THEM SEPARATELY IN THE PICTURE I ATTACH.
The time you will NOT need them is if the CCT had been replaced before; then the oil guide SHOULD have been inserted/installed then.

Am currently trying to download the PDFs for PREPARING REPLACEMENT CAM CHAIN, WHEEL BEARING FRONT, WHEEL BEARING REAR and CARB SYNC using the links on your signature. Unfortunately every time I click through, Internet Explorer stops working (broken links?) Anyway, is there anywhere else I can get copies from?
Am hoping to have my 93 model all ready to rumble for the local toy runs around November-December. Have fitted new brake discs/calipers/lines, New rubber on the front, new rear rim waiting for blast/powdercoat and bearings. New plugs/filters/fluids are awaiting financing along with chain and sprockets.
Any advice/help you could give me would be well appreciated!!

I have to say, that this guide helped me greatly. Thanks Naga Thai. I was very concerned about doing this, but having worked on vehicles since i was 14, i was relieved to see this. I got it done without a hitch. I did have a friend come by, and check my timing marks before buttoning it up. Just a safety measure.

You should use the latest cam chain tensioner with the latest part number. (not 1987 part number.).
FYI, my recommendation is as per the pdf you have read ...
CAM CHAIN AND TENSIONER REPLACEMENT
Parts you will need:
1. CHAIN, CAM (150L or more) 14401-MM5-015 ( Or DID equivalent )
2. CHAIN, CAM joining link.
3. BRACKET, TENSIONER 14500-MZ1-000
4. TENSIONER ARM PIN,HP-14531-KV0-000 14531-KV0-000 – QTY 2
5. PIN (6MM), HP-90607-MM5-000 90607-MM5-000 - QTY 2
6. SLIPPER - HP-14510-MM5-640 14510-MM5-640
7. GUIDE B, CAM CHAIN 14630-MS2-610
8. GASKET, CYL HD CVR, HP-12391-MM5-000 12391-MM5-000
I also recommended
1. O-RING (7.5mmX1.5mm) 91302-HB3-004 - QTY 2
If you have a 1987 or 1988 and are unsure if it has had the CCT retrofit (CCT
