Your better off getting it powdered coated. Paint will chip n the grease n solvent ya use to clean the chain will eat n fade it, esp spray bombs. But when on a budget ya gotta do what ya gotta do. But disassemble it down as for as you can so not to get oversrapy on every thing else. I spent this past weekend clean a sorry halfass spray bomb job off a swinger I am about to put on my F4.

not really a how-to thing [8D]but yea, i would just dissemble it (do another project with this dissembly*)but take your swingarm and what else you want powdercoated to a shop or ship toTGR coating (a vendor of CBRforum) to get them coated... it's alot better then paint and will last ALOT longer. Yes, it will take a bit of time to take apart the swingarm but it's worth it.

pretty much what im powdercoating when i take apart mine (in a couple of weeks)
-Rims
-Swingarm
-Rear Shock
-Rearset and pass pegs
-Calipers

*other projects to do
-drilled lightenedrear rotor (http://www.hooliganbiketech.net/hond...drearrotor.htm)
-new tires
-steel braided brake lines
-chain replacement (or 520 conversion kit)
-powdercoat the rims

hope this helps a bit... better to save times and do it all at once [8D]
