Default fender eliminator

pictures of the ones on my bike. Just to give you an idea of how simple it is to make one.

Cut out all the plastic under the tail.

fold some aluminum- it can be found at you local hardware store.

drill some holes and mount with bolts.

you can see the my license plate mounted to the aluminum fender eliminator.
this got me thinking about making a aluminum undertail-most likely out of fiberglass or somthing,
still in the workings.

I've got an 05 600RR and I'm in between a rock and a hard place on this one. One the one hand I'm thinking about the competition werkes fender eliminator kit, because to me it just looks the best. But for $150 bucks it's kinda steep. Also I have 2 questions about it. How bright is that dome light? And I read in another forum that since it is pivot mounted, it may become dangerous if the suspension hits. The other option is to have someone make me one since I am pretty mechanically retarded and I want it to look good. My girlfriend knows a guy who does metal work and he could probably make one for me for substantially less. Thoughts?

I've got a 2005 CBR F4i. I bought a tag relocater for about $20. Now the tricky part, cutting off the mud flap/bumper. The problem arises with where to cut. Do you cut below the reflector and the seat lock? Or do you cut off the entire thing and relocate the lock. Since it is cable operated, will you have to make adjustments on the cable after you move the lock? I was wondering if anyone out there has had a similiar situation and how did you handle it. I just dont want to spend the $150 for the fender eliminator kit. I have no need for blinkers because I purchased an LED taillight that has them included. Anyone willing to offer suggestions? If so please email me. Thanks.[X(]

I removed the reflector and cut as much of the fender off, just leaving enough to mount the plate.

02 F4I here. I carefully hacksawed everything off up to where it gets get "solid" under the seat. This leaves the blinker stalks intact.
I wanted the license plate as high as possible but in doing so would cover the seat lock. So I mounted the plate over the lock but J-B welded a cabinet hinge to it so I could merely flip it up to access the lock. When the plate is down, it is held down with velcro attached to the back of plate and to the remnant of the original fender. Eventually I replaced the blinkers with short stalks. The
plate lights I installed are another story...used parts of a aftermarket LED car interior lights...kind of hard to explain.
