Default CBR 250 R MC41 Cam Chain Tensioner

Hi All,

Im just putting this here adding to the wealth of knowledge..

I had a rattle, kind of a tin can sound coming from the engine at idle and when coming down to idle in first gear.

This didn't change with the clutch pulled in and seemed to disappear after about 30 minutes of riding.

Any apparently the cct always gives problems on hondas the bike only had 14km on it and I had just bought it cheap..

I needed it fixed for a trip so I paid the 100$ Aud everywhere in Sydney asks for a 7$ US part in Thailand :/

It fixed my problem but the bike seemed stiff, accelerating slowly and decelerating fast. I installed the cct and pulled the plastic stopper out letting it hit the chain as your supposed to do but it seemed to have automatically adjusted too tight.

So using a small screwdriver I wound it back and slowly let it settle against the chain hit its sweet spot

Anyway I`m sure most of you are aware of this I am just putting an online account of my troubles to help..

Also before buying a new cct its worth removing and winding it back and forward a half dozen times spraying some oil or wd40 in there to as a quick fix, also trying to wind it slowly anti-clockwise to push it out fully can help to alleviate the horrible rattle, tin can, metal slapping noise coming from the engine.
