I did this on the 600 and I jsut cut the plastic cover for the sprocket and then I reversed the cam. Not too big a deal and it works great!!

The 2005 YZ250 fits nicely as shown below:
It sits a little closer to the peg but I like this.
Attachment 18101
It sits out a bit wider, I may have to modify it.

The completed job.

I will see how well it sits on the next ride. It sits about three mm lower than I had for the regular shift pattern. If I want to adjust it up or down it goes from one spline to the next. If I adjust it up to the next spline it covers the bottom half of the hole shown in the photo, ie. up approx 15mm. So if I want to adjust it I will have to shove it in a vise and select the correct size hammer. :icon_smash: Actually now I think about it I will probably use a large shifter and perform a controlled bend.

The only complaint I have with the yz250 shifter is that the end piece would fold up when I tried to shift.

True, it might. but it comes in handy if you are sliding backwards down the road. :icon_wink:

The shifter would be the least of my worries if I'm sliding backwards.
