2007 600rr. I like the Dunlop Sportmax that came stock on my bike but not the price. I'm looking into the Michelin 2ct but worried that I may not feel confortable with them. Any suggestions based on experience or suggestions alone?

I also had the sportmax qualifiers, and while sticky... they didn't wear for chit. Honestly, like 3-4k and the front was cupped and the rear was done. I bought them when they came out, tho, so they were quite cheap.
My bike had Shinko 005's on it when I bought it that looked to be about 3/4 throught their life on the rear and about 1/2 up front. That being said I don't know what they were like new. I also bought the bike at the end of last riding season. The rear had about a 3-4 inch flat spot in the middle. Being at the time I was new to sport bikes I wasn't the smoothest with the throttle, but at 30-40 MPH in 3rd or forth gear if I'd snap the throttle open the tire would spin up before gripping in. Also with it having the flat spot it had a pretty hard edge that made leaning feel less than desirable. The tires would also hydroplane on what seemed like a single rain drop. After putting about 1,200 miles on, I had my fill of those tires and started doing research on different tires. When I finally rode those tires the last time the front still looked like 1/2 the tread was still there but i think had a few broken belts and was definitely cupped badly. The rear had no tread left down the center but was only flaring the middle 2 inches the outer inch still looked new as tgetting much past that edge was very unsettling for me.
Since the bike was already rocking some Dunlop stickers I decided I would look through there tire lineup and find the first set of rubbers I would buy for a motorcycle. I settled finally on Sportmax Roadsmarts the first time I took the bike out with the new tires the bike was a completely different machine. It seemed to just fall into turns. I spent probably the 100-200 miles gently getting used to the new feel. At about 4000 miles the tires seem to still have 75% of the tread left. Wet traction I would say is amazing...at least compared to my previous tire experience on the bike. I have been all over the tire surface save maybe a 1/4 inch or so at the very edge. The tires have never spun up or slipped on me in a place I wouldn't expecct them to up to this point. It will be interesting to see how they fair next season after they make it through the winter limited riding season.

I think his post was kinda old haha but i run shinko raven 009 front and rear. at 4,000mi 60% of the tread left id say. Idk its kinda hard just to eyeball. Good in the rain, I really enjoyed them new, for the rider on a budget dont pass them up. Im about to try out pirelli diablo's (i think its diablo's) on the new bike and see how they run.
I'm runnning a finished bridgestone front and a Pilot Power 50 (2000k mi) on the rear. I have no chicken strips left on the rear and want to get over further. So for my new front I'm thinking a 2ct or Power Pure 55-profile. Not sure if I should run the rear tire mismatched until it's finished or take it off and replace it with a new 55 2ct or Pure right away. Any thoughts on running mismatched profiles? Also how are 55 2ct's or Pure for wheelies? I still love my stand ups.
I would not run mismatched at least with the Pure's and I would highly recommend them as they lean like nothing else !
I'm not an intentional wheel merchant .......so can't speak to that
