Default Windscreen remove and replace

Wondering if any 2005 CBR junkies have a fix: I took off my windscreen to clean inside and behind the gauge. This windscreen has grommets with inserted thread which stayed on the windscreen and now I am not sure how the windscreen gets re-inserted. The grommets will not feed through the holes in the fairing. I can remove the grommets from the windscreen but it's impossible to feed them through the holes on the fairing from inside. Any recommendations? Thanks

those are a bitch to get to. I ended up just taking off my front cowl to get my windscreen back on, they suck.

What bike is it?

The windscreen on most bikes (incl 2005 f4i) are held on using well nuts (rubber top hats with a brass thread inside). Buy new if the ones on there are knackered.

These are fitted to the windscreen, not the cowl. You put the bolts through the hole in the cowl and into the well nuts fitted to the windscreen (use a nylon washer to save the cowl from damage), as you tighten them the rubber top hat is compressed and acts like a rubber rivet. If you want new, ebay m5 rubber well nuts.
