1700 miles ago i changed the oil & filter.I always make it a habbit to check the oil b4 i start the bike.Today when i checked it it was sitting a little bit above the low line.Does this mean that my CBR 1000 is using oil or burning it ? Should i be worried ? Any input or insight would be appreciated.

 

depends on where it was when you changed it. it's not uncommon for it to burn a tiny bit of oil. about 1/4 quart may be in the filter. check your airbox and plugs to see if there's oil. i wouldn't be too concerned unless i knew exactly how much i had initially put in. the bike is leveled and not on the stand right?

 

Thanks for the reply .Yes the bike is on the rear stand.Does that make a difference?

 

the bike shouldn't be on any stands unless it's rear stand and front stand.

needs to be leveled all the way around on rear stand the rear would be higher than the front!
