Wheel Bearing & Rectifier 91 CBR600F FM/F2??
Hey, picked up my new to me FM today and rode about 260 miles home, when I got home it wouldn't start, battery was flat (now charging) as I'd had the headlight on high beam all the way home. Must have drained it, it's not charging on the bike I expect.
The previous owner fitted a ZX10 Rectifier as a remedy, seems it ain't the remedy, I will search the forum but if anyone has a solution that would be great.
Also I noticed when filtering slowly through traffic there's a noise from the front end, not a grinding like a car wheel bearing, there's a clicking with wheel rotation, and sort of intermittent low grind noise, with feel / feedback through the handlebars. It's def not warped ront discs, wheel makes the noise with brakes biting or without brakes, calipers were recently rebuilt although the pads need the backs greased as there making a high pitch wail at slow speeds
I've never had a wheel bearing go out on me on a bike before, but I suspect that's what the noise is.
Bike was MOT'd last week and with no advisories.
Oh, and yeah, I'm new here, hello 👋

Hey there Borderhooner.
The rectifier is readily available from lots of sources. Here is a quick search that came up with Amazon.com with a regulator/rectifier for $17....
For the wheel bearing, the type of pads you have can be a significant factor. I have the sintered metal pads and they are noisy with or without brakes engaged. I too thought I had a wheel bearing issue but when I pulled the calipers from the front wheel and rotated wheel fast, no noise so at least in my case, it is the sintered pads. They are known for noise. Might want to check the wheel rotation first without the calipers on and see if the noise dissipates. Should be able to notice very quickly.
The feedback through the triple trees could be brake pads, could be a wheel out of balance that only becomes noticeable when the brakes are engaged, or could be the steering neck bearings.
