Whats your MPH and RPM?!?!
I am just curious as to everyones RPM and MPH in 6th gear. What I mean is what are your RPM's at when your going a certain MPH. Like this morning I was going 75 mph at a little over 6k rpm's I hit 120 at one point and glanced at the tach and it was right at 10k give or take a 100 or 2. I saw a post somewhere, cant remember where though that someone was doing about 120-130 not even touching 8k rpms. I dont see how thats possible? then again im not sure what bike he had either. Anyway I am just curious so facinate me i guess. Thanks....

RE: Whats your MPH and RPM?!?!
MPH and RPM are determined by the type of gearing that your motorcycle has. There is also the percentage error when your speedo displays your MPH. The general rule can range from 5% to 8% error in accuracy.
For example, my 94 CBR1000F-R has stock gearing of 17/42 (17 tooth front sprocket and 42 tooth rear sprocket). At 55mph, my rpm guage would read about 3800-4000 rpms. When the speedometer read 155, my rpms would read about 8800 rpms. Recently, I just went -1 in the front (16 tooth) and +3 in the back. When the speedometer now reads 55, I am doing about 4600 rpms. I recently took it out on the highway and buried the speedometer at 185 and the rpms were reading just under 10,000 rpms. I know the bike doesn't actually do 185. And taking the 8% error into consideration I would modestly say that I was about at 170. This ofcourse takes into consideration the mods that I have done to the bike. Full titanium header and carbon fiber black widow racing exhaust, stage 1.7 race jet kit, modified air box, iridium plugs, k&n filter.
There are sites out there that can show you what your speeds would be based on the gearing your bike has. They have ratio calculators.

RE: Whats your MPH and RPM?!?!
Wish I could tell ya... don't spend much time in 6th gear
I do know this about my bike though - in 4th gear, my MPH is approx. equal to my RPM's divided by 100. For example:
4th gear @ 6,000 RPMs = 60 mph
@ 8,500 = 85
and so on and so forth. That's pretty consistent from 30 up to 110 mph or so.
Sorry I couldn't answer your exact question, but nevertheless it's some more useless info for everyone! BTW, I've got stock gearing on the F4i.
