okay i just bout this bike and i have no book on it. i know the front sprocket is supposed to have 16 from the factory if thats the case what size chain would i buy? the guy told me though that it is a 15 tooth sprokket on the front of the bike and oem on the back wich that i know is in that case what size would i need?

if you could recomand a brand and style that would be great to. i dont want to spend a whole hell of a lot of money on one this year i have no problem replacing it next year i want to try and keep the price around 120 if possible

i did that lol i found for a stock one but not for 15

 

i assume you have an 01 F4i, Which in that case you would need a 525 chain and your sprocket sizes should be 16 in fronst and 46 in back. But if they dropped a tooth in front to 15 teeth, it will still work with a stock chain. You could also add 2 teeth in the back and still be fine with a stock chain. Thats my settup atleast.

 

yes its an 01 f4i thanks so the stock chain is alright for that? and chain you would recomend? do i need to know any thing besides 525 this is the first chain im buying it

Just tell the dealer you want a stock chain for a 01 F4i. It will automatically show up a 525 chain. I have used DID chains and RK chains and I like them both.

Just look it up in a DennisKirk book or online or a Chaparral magazine. They are both good books and I buy alot of stuff from them.
