Even though the oil filters on bikes are not torqued that much, I still recommend getting a filter wrench. The last time I changed my oil, I spilled some on my hands when removing the drain plug. Because of the lube on my hands I couldn't get a good enough grip on the filter to break it loose. I had to do the whole punch-it-with-a-screwdriver thing, which turned out to be very messy.
Or you could always go with the K&N oil filter, which has the socket attachment built right into the filter.

Amsoil full synthetic. Works great.
