new question= #1 journal on intake cylinder head and cover scored
got a used cylinder head and cover with all valves and cam shafts coming
question is im going to change gaskets but clymers says to replace allwashers even on valve cover can i use the old ones or are they actually one time crush washers ,they look good and should i coat the gaskets with oil
before putting on or put on dry or something else

give me some info from experience this is my first time doing this!!!
any pointers will be greatly appreciated

 

I do know that you can use the gaskets for the valve cover bolts a couple times before replacing them. I would replace the crush washers though because it just wouldn't be worth having to take everything apart and redo the head bolts. If you have to redo the valve cover because they leak, it's not that hard to get to them and replace the gaskets.
