Default turn signal help

Ok here's the deal I just bought an 04 600rr. My left turn signal works as it should my right hand signal didn't. If I turn my signal on the the headlight dims ever so slightly but it is noticeable. Already checked my bulds btw. I am new to troubleshooting motorcycles any help would be appreciated. Thanx in advance.

I suspect you have an earthing problem by your symptoms. You will need a wiring diagram for your bike to see where the earth connections are. Sometimes they are internal with the wiring and other times a direct earth to the frame where the indicators are mounted. As most moder bike indicators are usually rubber mounted I think the internal wiring method will have been used, so it could be a bit of a pig to trace. Once you know which is the earth wire from each indicator, (used to be brown or black) use a volt meter set to ohms to check continuity between the earth wire of each one and a good metal part of the frame. Definitely sounds like a bad earth issue, but others may have other ideas.
