Default tune up question

I'm brand new to motorcycles so forgive my huge lack of knowledge... In a tune up for a bike, what all is involved? obviously spark plugs oil filter and a change but Ive heard its a good idea to get your bike "jetted". I have no idea what this means. What should a full tune up cost/ include to get me ready for summer?
Thanks

Here is a link you can read about jetting...
http://www.raskcycle.com/techtip/webdoc12.html
and tune up you wanna check your brake pads brake fluid levels...
as well as flush your engine coolant.... and check tire pressure and torque down everything to spec's to make sure everything hasn't loosen...
That's all i'm getting for right now.

What motorcycle do you own? To give you a better idea of what needs checked it helps to know the year and mileage on your motorcycle.

A general tune up consists of spark plugs, oil change/filter, air filter. Doesn't have to stop there. You can look deeper, check your chain for kinks and for it being over stretched, and lube it. check brake pad width, check wheel bearings. Check fluids and flush/replace if required.

Jetting is for carbed bikes and is only required if something isn't running correctly. You can clean your carbs, if you have them, if the bike has not be running for a while.
