Question Trip meter never worked.

Bike in question: CBR 600 F3, 1996

So my trip meter has never worked since I've bought my bike.

I've bought a speedo sensor from ebay, but it was somewhat faulty. It read my speed at 1/2 speed & still didn't fix the trip meter not working. I put in the old sensor again & it read correct speed again, but still no trip meter ticking over.

I've opened up the cluster to see if there's anything loose or broken..but no luck.

I'm guessing it's an electrical issue and I have no idea where to go from here, any advice/tips/recommendations?

As always, much appreciated and ride, ride, RIDE!

There's only two things that can cause this to not be working. The cluster itself, or the speed sensor. You can't determine which one it is without replacing one. And since you haven't tried a "known good" speed sensor it is still kind of up in the air. The speed sensor is usually the cheapest thing to try first, especially since replacing the cluster is going to monkey your miles all up.
