Default Tires Tires Tires Tires and more Tires

To a lot of people they are something round and black and nothing more. To some of us they can mean the difference between a thrilling ride or a ride in the meat wagon. So my new ride came with Pirelli Diablo Corsas on it (1kRR). The alternate tire for my bike is the Bridgestone BT014.

Now I've done research and tried many types of tires and I'd settled in to the fact that I prefer the Bridgestones. Just my thang but since my bike came with Pirelli's if figured I'd give them a fair shot. First, I see that the Pirelli's are about $160 - $200 a set more than the 14's. Sure, they handle well in dry, sandy and wet. No high speed wobbly stuff. Heat up quickly and plain just stick. The Bridgestones have been just as good. In fact, I've taken a set of BT010's to 228mph and held it for a couple of miles and that baby was solid.

So what do you guys think? What's your tire preference? As for me, I'll swap back to Bridgestone once I grind the Pirelli's down.

I have Diablos on my bike and love them. (not Corsa's though)

228mph??????? What kind of mods have you done? Turbo???????? and NOS???
I would suggest that you have some serious speedo error going on.

Duke -- it wasn't on the CBR. My last bike was a turbo-hayabusa. No speedo error -- GPS speed verification.

Hello all,

I have been through Brigdestone BT-010s, Avon AV-45/46 and Pirelli Diablos over the past 14,000 miles. So far I have felt more confident and comfortable on the Diablos. I believe the Daiblos have a different profile than the others along with the compound composition.

Personally i'm a big fan of the Metzler M1's. I have also heard great things about the Pirelli Diablo's, but I don't have any first hand experience with them. How were the Avon's? I have had several people tell me those were some of the longest lasting tires they have had.

Yeah that seems to be the case with those tires. Big Kahuna ( the other forum) was able to get two rear tires to one front tire.

I on the other hand am too hard on tires, I can't remember what kind of mileage I got.
