Tire Mounting Rip Off
wow...
just the prices i'm getting quoted for....it's a total rip!
cycle gear...buy their tires, $20/tire mount/balance...bring in own tire...$30/tire mount/balance
total rip! they don't match prices either...because it's labor...at $20/tire which takes about 5 minutes max...that's an hourly rate of $360!!!!
taking my business elsewhere!

i usually can get a honda or yamaha dealership to change mine around 15-20 bucks, has anyone every purchased a tire changer? pros/cons about how much are they, im planning on riding for the rest of my life so im gonna go through lots of tires, im sure i would come out ahead in the long run if I just sucked it up and by a tire changer.
imagine tryin to run a bussiness and buying the equipment and paying for it, rent , wages. Thats bout norm to get any tire mounted n balanced.
If it was your shop what would you charge? Keep in mind you are paying all the overhead of the shop.

it used to be $6 if you purchased the tire and then $12 if you brought in the tire.
i took my stuff to a ma/pa shop, free for purchased tire, $15 for bringing tires in.
overhead does not justify that type of cost for 5 minutes of work!

Honda West did my Qualifiers.
Counter/rim weight fell off in two days.
I swear there is onlt one Honda dealer within 100 radius miles I can trust Decatur Powersports (Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki)
The rest have **** for techs.

front was free to mount cause i bought the tire...but $7 balancing! didn't tell me that before...
rear...$15 to mount, 7 to balance, still better than psycho gear...
looks like i'll be purchasing some sort of a tire changer or tire irons soon....learning is good for the mind...
