Timing chain rattle
Hi
I've bought a CBR600F2 1994, it's got 54,000 on the clock.
It starts and goes good but i've noticed it has a timing chain rattle
on tick over.
When I rev it a little bit it goes away.
Do you think I need to change the chain, tensioner and oil pump or
can I just get away with changing the tensioner.
Has anyone come across this before that can help me?
Cheers

definitely do the CCT first. get an ape one off ebay. not too expensive at all. can't really fail like a hydraulic one can either
however, if that doesn't do it, then you may need a new cam chain itself. i just rebuilt a motor, and the chain itself was kinked up so bad that it needed replaced as well.

Glad to hear your new tensioner is on its way, but with the mileage you say the bike has covered I think it would be wise to renew the timing chain as well. It will be worth the extra expense and effort for peace of mind. A broken timing chain causes a lot of damage and will cost you more in the long run. Of course, it's your choice!
no a little bit further down nearer crosshands

, I just seem to remember reg plates
