Default Throttle Grip Loose

I have a 2002 600F4i and the rubber grip has come unglued from the plastic on the throttle. I removed it, cleaned both the grip and the plastic of the old adhesive and applied some Scott's Grip Stick I bought from a local motorcycle shop. Didn't work. Can anyone suggest a quality grip glue or some other method to secure the grip? Note, this only became a problem now that the weather is warming up. I'm assuming because the rubber is expanding.

Thanks.

what did you use to clean it with? If the cleaner left behind any film, the glue won't stick.

I just used dish soap and water (had to use my fingernail to peel off some of the old adhesive which was a brownish orange), then dried off with paper towels and let air dry further. The grips are in good condition and really don't need to be replaced, just attached properly. Thanks for the replies.

New grips cost 10 bucks. Get some. I didn't use anything when I installed mine, they're holding up just fine after 1 season. Having to regrip the throttle all the time gets tiresome. I haven't had cramps like that since puberty.

I don't use anything. I find the rubber and plastic create pretty good friction and glue isn't necessary. But every bike is different so yours might move around while mine don't. Any type of rubber glue should work. Napa, Home depot or any other store should have all kinds of glue's that would work.

I just safety wire mine... never move, and when you want them off - just snip the loop
