aaahh! S.Jeff beat me to it,,hehehehe...my son had hooked up the vent hose onto the carb vent "T" connector ,,(without me knowing) yep did the same thing but I couldn't keep it running long enough to get on it . I have a problem with mud dauber wasp's making mud nests in my vent hoses even tho I have it under a cover . A bad vacuum or vent hose would do the same thing, as these honda's depend on vacuum & positive venting for fuel flow . Check the vent hose on the tank and at the throttle bodys . Sometimes things that are so simple are sometimes overlooked I would start on these simple things ,,before you get into a big bill situation with the shop,,or have them check all the vent / vacuum hoses . Good call SmokinJeff .
A mechanic worth his certification would / should have done this already ,,unless there is some less then honest aggressive problem solving at the shop ,,but I'm not one for making accusation's ,,but it does happen..2 weeks is a long time for your bike to be in that shop .

Im thinking you guys are right. seems to be related to heat. I'll try ride the bike with the gas cap open no hard corners LOL! Thank God for the 2 month warranty the bike came with.... I'll let the shop know of your ideas on whats going on. I need to ride!!!

Just an idea ,,you should lift the tank and see if the heat shield is still there under the tank (tank not heat protected?),,and see if the vent hose is connected to anything,,if it is ,,pull the vent hose gently off and inspect it for being stopped up ,,also some people mistakenly hook that up to the throttle body emission vent hoses and that will put a vacuum affect in your tank stopping fuel flow , not healthy for the fuel pump either.

I had a similar issue with my 05 600rr. I would ride about 40 - 50 miles and then the bike would act like it was running out of fuel. I first couple times this happened, I would top off the tank and I would be able to ride another 40 - 50 miles. I thought that by me opening the tank, I was allowing air to get in and I was good for another 50 or so miles. I checked the vent and it was all good. I replaced the pump and the problem is gone.
