tagging a bike
anyone tell me if i was to buy a bike that doesnt have tags or a vin, but the guy has another frame with the title, can i get it tagged without having to change the frames, and its in oklahoma
technically.. the guy would have to give you the bill of sale for the frame with title and you register that frame as the bike (tags)... just know that if you get stopped with your current frame with no VIN.. ouch time lol. it would be in your best interest to change out the frames and be safe
The real question to ask is: Why does the frame have no vin? I can understand if it has a salvage title and you buy another frame to make the title good. But NO vin at all? I personally would stay away from it.
Yeah, I'm not digging the whole vibe. +1 to 74demon. I'd walk and not risk the head-
ache. It is illegal to remove the VIN from the frame, in the first place. Sure I could see
lost title, but NO VIN?
Even swapping the frames, is inviting trouble, that indicates that you KNEW there
might be issues. Like Ace said, "Ouch!"
There should be a VIN stamp on the engine. You could pay to run that. There's an
on-line history report service, costs $25 bucks, I think. But really, why bother?
I'd keep looking, there's always another deal on craig-list, etc.

lol thats true just like the price 1500 and i hate to say it but its not a honda :'(... its an 04 gsxr... and i was also thinking since its oklahoma, most of the cops and people at the DMV are not as strict when it comes to registering and going outside to look at the bike, like in cali.... thats my thought... ive bought a civic before and went to get the title switched, and they never said anything about looking at it or anything about the vin.. and i would think it would be the same for a bike to
